What I Eat In A Day | July 28, 2015

Today’s What I Eat In A Day will be a little different, because I entered all my food into cronometer which is an awesome website that tracks you calories, macronutrient ration, as well as nutrients. I definitely don’t do this everyday, but I like to do it at least once a month to make sure I’m eating all my vitamins, and minerals as well as just see how all my food adds up. So now, onto the food!

Breakfast was eaten at about 11:00, and was my typical breakfast. Two slices of Ezekiel bread, one with peanut butter and molasses and the other with blackberry jelly. Along side the toast, I had some strawberries, two bananas, and of course a nice cup of black coffee.

I spent most of the day cleaning out my apartment, so by 2:00 I was ready for a nice cold smoothie. The recipe for my typical green smoothie can be found here. Since all my vases weren’t clean (yes, I drink my smoothies from vases) I had to just use two glasses that would hold it all. Yay for huge green smoothies!!

Before leaving for gardening class at 5:00, I had a huge juicy mango along with about 5 medjool dates (not pictured).

After class, I was starving so I made a huge bowl of potatoes and veggies! This is my typical dinner that I make several times a week because it’s so easy and delicious. In the bowl, I have 3 small white potatoes (roasted) topped with satuéed onion, red pepper, broccoli, and tempeh. I top it all off with some Trader Joe’s simmer curry sauce and some smashed avocado. I ate this around 8:00 pm.

I then decided at 10:00 pm I was going to continue deep cleaning my room and by 12:30 am I realized how hungry I was, so I ate a blueberry crisp Clif Bar before heading to bed. (note the clean desk!)

Here is how everything added up in cronometer. On the website, you can set your macronutrient ratios, as well as add in your basal metabolic rate (mine is about 1,780 calories/day). I set my macronutrient ratios at 75% carbohydrates, 15% protein, and 15% fat and my minimum calories I set at 1,800 calories/day even though I try to eat at least 2,000. I hit just about all of these goals, which was awesome! I also included the vitamins and minerals that are tracked.

  1. I have to track/analyze sample diets at school but never take time to do my own. But now I want to! And enjoy the freshly cleaned apartment – such a good feeling 🙂
