Documentaries Watched In 2015

One of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2015 was to watch at least one documentary every month. I wrote them all down in the back of my planner, and thought it would be cool to share them all with you, and rate each one on a scale from 1-10.

I’m hoping to do the same in 2016, it’s a great way to spend a little time each month educating yourself on different topics and information that’s out there.

Update: I’m Alive

As you may have noticed, I took a much needed…yet longer than expected hiatus from blogging. With nutrition club responsibilities, final projects, a brutal final’s week, taking the GRE, and a busy holiday season, blogging unfortunately got pushed to the back burner for a while.

But I think I’ve given myself a long enough break, because I’m ready to get back to blogging about food, recipes, and all things nutrition and health!

A little update on the past three months…

Traveled to the beach, and the mountains over fall break..

My Favorite Things: September

September is one of my favorite months, because it includes the start of fall, as well as my birthday! I guess I was enjoying it so much, it seemed to fly by! But here are some of the things I loved during the best month of the year!

Family time

I was able to go home twice this month, once for Labor Day and then again for a conference. It’s always so great seeing my family, and our new addition Toby!

What I Eat In A Day | September 16, 2015

It’s been too long since I’ve posted a What I Eat In A Day, have you missed them? Today was filled with delicious food, so hopefully it’ll make up for not posting one in a while.

The morning started off with my typical breakfast of 2 slices of Ezekiel bread with peanut butter and molasses and jelly. I paired it with a banana and mug of coffee. Does anyone recognize my mug from a certain TV show??

After breakfast, I headed over the The Children’s Playhouse to give a Kids Can Cook lesson. This semester, I’ve been giving monthly cooking classes for a local children’s museum. Last month, we made green smoothies and this month we made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies (that were also vegan!). The kids are pretty young, so it’s a little difficult to make lessons that are extremely simple and hands on. Cookies were perfect because they got to touch the flour, oats, and sugar. Also mixing batter is always fun! They turned out great, and the kids all seemed to love them!

My Favorite Things: August

Wow, where did August go?! I can’t believe that it’s already September, which is not a complaint at all considering September is my favorite month, but where how did it get here so fast? Lots of exciting things happened in August, and there were lots of favorites to include this month so get ready!

Toby The Puppy

One super exciting thing that happened this month was that our family got a puppy! I was able to go home for a few days before school started back so I could meet the little guy. He is a Chihuahua|Terrier mix, and is absolutely precious. Can’t wait to head down the mountain on my next break from school to visit him again and see how much he’s grown!
