A fellow blogger and nutrition major that I am obsessed with just wrote a “Day In The Life Of A Dietetics Student” blog post, and it inspired me to do the same!
The beauty of being a college student is never having a typical day, there’s always something different going on. But here is a fairly good representation of how I spend a day being a dietetics student!
On Tuesday and Thursdays I have three classes, the first one at 8:00am. Now that I’m a senior in college, I’ve lowered my getting ready time to about twenty minutes. I set everything out the night before, so all I have to do is get up, wash my face, get dressed, make coffee, and head out the door! I drive to school, so I have to give myself at least 20 minutes to drive, park, and walk to class. My alarm goes off at 7:10, and by 7:30 I’m leaving with hot coffee in my hand.

Wow, where did August go?! I can’t believe that it’s already September, which is not a complaint at all considering September is my favorite month, but where how did it get here so fast? Lots of exciting things happened in August, and there were lots of favorites to include this month so get ready!
Toby The Puppy
One super exciting thing that happened this month was that our family got a puppy! I was able to go home for a few days before school started back so I could meet the little guy. I decided to expand my typical What I Eat In A Day into a What I’ve Been Eating This Week. Mostly because I just kept forgetting to take photos of my food, so I thought I’d just combine all the ones I did remember to take and put it into one post.
This past week, I started my senior year of college! I’m trying to get back into a routine and get better at packing food/snacks to take to campus to eat throughout the day. So now, onto the food!
On Saturday, my mom was in town visiting and we went to Mellow Mushroom for dinner. Did you know they have a vegan menu?!? Pretty awesome! We shared a vegan pizza that was incredible!

It’s that time of year… classes are starting back up and the days seem to never end. Also, it’s the time where packing snacks become a necessity. This is my first year living off campus, which means I don’t have a meal plan anymore. To save money, bringing my own food to campus is crucial. Here are some of my super simple, and cheap snack ideas I like to throw in my book bag before heading out the door to class.
One of the easiest packaged snacks ever are energy bars. They are so convenient and delicious, but can often be filled with preservatives and unnecessary added sugars. That’s why I recommend LARA bars, they only have a few simple ingredients that taste delicious, with amazing flavor combinations. Although they can be expensive, they are worth it because you are paying for good quality, wholesome ingredients. But they are usually on sale, so keep your eye out for a good sale, or buy in bulk online!
