Update

Wow, it’s been a while! I’ve definitely let The Planted Vegan fall to the back burner for a while, but have a lot of motivation, energy, and time to bring it back… so get ready! I thought I’d start back up with some updates to fill anyone in on what’s been going on in my life since I last posted an update that you can read here!

My Favorite Things: July

FRESH FRUIT

Summer time means more fresh fruit! Some of my favorites this month were mangos, blueberries, and watermelon. I’ve been having a lot more fruit based meals, and I’m not complaining at all!

MEAT ALTERNATIVES (GARDEIN)

I usually don’t eat a lot of meat alternatives, but this month I seemed to eat it several times a week. I love the Gardein meat alternatives, there are tons of different types and flavors. They are super delicious, and easy to make too! My favorite one has been the grilled “chicken” strips.

My Experience: Eating Vegan at Disney

Recently, my family and I took a trip to the magical world of Disney for Spring break. This included four days of all day walking, riding rides, hunting down characters, dancing through Mainstreet, catching monorails, and just having a blast. All of this left no time for cooking, which meant quick and easy meals/snacks throughout the day. Here are some ways I ate healthy and saved money while enjoying being on vacation at the most magical place in the world…

1. Find a grocery store, and stock up

The first thing I did when arriving, was find the closest grocery store, to buy snacks and foods to last the week. I had never been to a Publix before, so I was pretty excited to go to one.
