I’ve been recently trying to switch over most all of my everyday health and beauty products to natural, cruelty-free products. I’ve found several really awesome products and wanted to share with you all if you’re looking to switch some of your health and beauty products to more natural alternatives as well.
Rose Water Spray
I absolutely love using rose water spray multiple times a day, it’s so refreshing and rejuvenating. It is simple to make, so instead of buying it I make it. All you need to make your own rose water spray is rose oil, distilled water, and a glass spray bottle. Combine 20-30 drops of rose oil with distilled water in the spray bottle and then put the lid on and shake to emulsify. You can use this spray on your face and body as much as you’d like! I love using it in the morning after I rinse my face with water, as well as after a workout or when I feel like I need to refresh my face during the day. It not only smells incredible, but it helps to calm and brighten my face.
Dr. Bronner’s Toothpaste
I’ve recently discovered this toothpaste after using Tom’s of Maine fluoride-free toothpaste for the past couple years. I love the simple ingredients in this toothpaste and how fresh it feels after brushing my teeth with it. The main ingredient is coconut oil which has been shown to whiten as well as clean your teeth. I love oil pulling, but sometimes don’t have the motivation and patience to do it everyday, so this toothpaste is a great alternative. The only thing I don’t like about this product is how thin it is, and the fact it doesn’t foam up like other toothpastes do. But other than the consistency this is a great toothpaste if you’re looking for something more natural and fluoride free. I’ve been able to find this toothpaste at TJ Maxx and Marshalls for around $4.00, but you can also find it on Amazon.
Acure Brightening Face Mask
There’s nothing better than putting on a face mask after a long day, and this face mask is definitely my favorite. Most face masks are filled with chemicals and preservatives that aren’t good for your skin, but this face mask is a great alternative if you’re looking for something less harsh and more natural. I love the brand Acure because they are a natural alternative to all things skin care. This face mask is made out of algae and chlorella as well as many other natural oils and extracts. Its a bright green color (from the algae and chlorella) and it leaves your face feeling so smooth and fresh. It is extremely gentle and is the perfect way to liven your skin up if it’s feeling dull. I bought this product off Amazon but have also seen the Acure brand sold at Marshalls and TJ Maxx, so it’d be worth checking there as well if you’re interested in trying it out for yourself.
Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant
Natural deodorants can be tricky, most don’t work and leave you going back to one that has aluminum, parabens, and other chemicals. But after lots of experimenting and trial and error I’ve found one that works so well, is natural and smells great. I love that it is a stick rather than a roller ball, gel, or crystal rock (which are all common applications in natural deodorants). It feels just like any other deodorant but is cruelty-free, natural, aluminum free, paraben free, and has only natural fragrances. Schmidt’s has lots of different fragrances using essential oils including one that is fragrance free. It goes on smooth and dry, and gets the job done in all climates and activities. I got this one at TJ Maxx for around $4.00 but you can find it on Amazon if you’re wanting to make the switch to an aluminum free, more natural deodorant.
I’ve been using coconut oil for years, and absolutely LOVE it for all things health and beauty. I gave up almost all lotions a while ago when trying to use more natural products and started using coconut oil instead and I’m so glad I made that switch. Coconut oil is extremely moisturizing and so good for your skin… and the best part is that it is ONE ingredient! There are no chemicals or fragrances in coconut oil and so it’s great for anyone and everyone. I use it to moisturize my face and lips every morning and night. It’s great to use after shaving, it helps to soothe and moisturize and keep your skin smooth and hydrated. I also use it to oil pull (which I mentioned above) when I feel like I need a little detox. I love using this after I exfoliate my feet or do a foot soak. It’s just an all around amazing product that will change your life! I love adding a few drops of essential oil into it each time I use it to add some natural fragrance.. You can purchase coconut oil almost everywhere. I’ve been using one from Trader Joe’s but you can find many different sizes and brands on Amazon.
